Influence of surface flaw on fatigue life of valve springs

$15.00

Surface defects on oil-tempered wires are one of the important factors which affect fatigue life of valve springs. Through fatigue tests on nitrided and non-nitrided high strength springs, with artificial longitudinal flaws, it was revealed that surface flaws not deeper than 0.05mm did not deteriorate fatigue properties of each specimen.
