Description
In this paper, the structural background of strength and ductility is described, and a “quality parameter” is introduced, describing the quality of the strength-ductility combination of drawn steel wire. In particular, the effect of aging on the evolution of that parameter will be discussed. The parameters have been calculated for rope wires drawn in two series of experiments. The kinetics of static strain aging have been studied by means of Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermoelectric Power (TEP).
