Influence of tramp elements on the mechanical properties and the transformation behavior of steels with high and low carbon contents

$15.00

Unimetal recently completed the installation of an electric furnace and an upgrade of its production facilities. A comprehensive study has since been conducted on the quality of the wire rods, their transformation aptitude and the mechanical properties of the final products. Several steel grades with different levels of carbon and tramp elements were considered. Comparative tests were conducted on steel samples taken at each stage of the manufacturing route (steel making and transformation) and after different reductions.
