The paper reports several notable improvements in reliability, user-friendliness, environmental protection and reduced maintenance. An advanced interface package exploiting these gains for several wiremarking operations is presented. A recent dramatic breakthrough in print quality is also described. Remarkably, this major step, called ‘Freeform,’ involves no loss of speed and little physical change to the printer.
