Manufacturers of insulated wire are under pressure to increase production speed. However, it is necessary to maintain critical performance characteristics such as elongation, capacitance and breakdown voltage. This can be accomplished by reducing the variation in temperature of the wire entering the extruder head by employing an on-line wire temperature measurement and control system.
