In the field of electrical power distribution, fire behavior of low voltage cables in public premises is a strong preoccupation, from both environmental and human safety concerns. Special HTV silicone rubber for the insulation of fire safety cables guarantees the cable operation during a fire by forming a ceramic layer. The silicone rubber insulation replaces the common mica braiding construction of safety cables through direct extrusion of an insulating layer.
