Introduction of a new lubricant for copper wiredrawing

$15.00

The results of a joint venture between the Rea Magnet Wire Company and Cincinnati Milacron which tested a series of metalworking fluids to determine the best lubricant for copper wiredrawing are described. The purpose of the effort was to minimize operational difficulties of foaming, chemical instability and the tolerance of copper fines. Production trials determined that a premium heavy-duty soluble oil is the best overall product for this application.
