Manufacture of a Tubular Component

$15.00

Using coiled bar stock 1 21/21′ diameter, supplied in coils weighing approximately 5000 pounds to make parts 1.50′ diameter x 6.56′ long weighing 720 grams (1.59 pounds) at forty parts per minute requires high tech methods. This is why a major automobile manufacturer came to Verson for a turn key manufacturing system. The piece part being manufactured is made of A.I.S.I. 1524 steel. It has a stepped bore with diameters of 1.125′ and .85 that are 5.28′ deep. The physical properties of this part after forming require a yield strength of 110,000 P.S.I. (758.42 N/MM2) some of the parts attributes are held as close as + .001.
