Description
A four part/four author examination of equipment, methods, and inks, used to apply identifying marks to wire and cable insulation is presented. The ‘chemistry’ of inks examines how application methods dictate the type of inks to be applied; the ‘art of color-coding’ explains the necessity for selection of the correct wire-coding ink; the ‘coming of age’ traces the development of embossing, indenting, and gravure, and further advancements.
