To compete in today’s markets, it is a necessity to reduce operating costs. However, cutting costs cannot mean sacrificing a high quality standard. This paper explains how an in-line measurement and control system on an extrusion line can reduce scrap and reduce material usage. Quality is not only maintained at the high standard, but can also be improved, giving process a competitive edge.
