Technological lubricants have to fulfill many functions when used in the process of plastic working, such as drawing wire, bars and tubes. This work is concerned with physical, chemical, tribological and exploitation properties of lubricants used in the drawing process. An interaction of main additives for lubricants will also be explained. Different methods of testing lubricants and criteria for estimating their quality will be presented.
