Microstructure controls of wire rod for drawing without patenting

$15.00

To manufacture steel wires without patenting, wire rods should exhibit high enough ductility to prevent breakage during wiredrawing. The reduction of the crack initiation sites such as cementite and ferrite/pearlite interface would be the best method to increase the ductility of wire rods. By reducing the carbon content and ferrite volume fraction through transformation kinetics control, wire rods could be drawn directly from 5.5 mm to 0.96 mm in diameter.
