Description
Recent developments on the Hazelett® Twin-Belt Caster and the SMS Copper Rod Rolling Mill make it possible to increase the product range of the CONTIROD® Process beyond the standard eight mm diameter rod. The mold of the twin-belt caster has a new casting belt and side dam block guiding system designed to provide a higher flexibility in changing the cast bar section. This facilitates a change from a more rectangular section, desirable for wire rod production, to a more flat section for the production of copper strip and low profile sections.
