Description
Development of a product superior to lead patented high carbon wire rod, by the use of in-line heat treatment is demonstrated. The method termed DLP enables quick cooling without generation of martensite structure, provides a positive means to raise the temperature when over-cooling occurs, and involves a two step heat treatment in which salt is used to satisfy the above two conditions. Mechanical properties of the DLP wire rod, along with detailed mechanical tests are charted and discussed.
