Description
The FSCV (Furukawa’s pressurized salt bath continuous vulcanizer) process for curing rubber and XLPE cables using a pressurized molten salt medium is presented. The system is outlined; safety, buoyancy, the elimination of salted cooling water, and versatility are considered. Types of cable produced include rubber insulation, rubber jacket, and XLPE insulation. The quality of the products is equal to or better than for other systems; the FSCV system is also concluded to be economically superior to other vulcanizing systems.
