Numerical analysis of drawing of steel wires in different dies – concave, convex, sigmoidal and conical

$15.00

In this paper, a numerical analysis of a drawing process of carbon steel wires (steel grade D45, DB92) with a finite element approach (Forge 2) has been performed. Four different shapes of the approach zone of a drawing die were used – conical, concave, convex, and sigmoidal. The influence of drawing parameters including temperature distribution, hydrostatic stress, draw stress, and strain intensity in the deformation zone of tested dies has been determined.
