Some aspects of galvanizing were tested in studies in which wire was preheated, pre-plated with nickel or zinc, or flux coated prior to galvanizing. Micrographs of wire processed under these various conditions are presented. Preheating was shown to allow shorter immersion times. The advantages of pre-plating were not evident in this study.
