Description
Recent years have seen an increasing interest in polymer-based lubricants in cold heading and cold extrusion processes because of technical and economical advantages. This paper focuses on two different approaches: a) replacement of reactive soap over phosphate and b) replacement of both phosphate and soap in a one-step process. It outlines the technical principles behind this process, commercial benefits, and real life experience with these lubrication systems, along with an outlook on future developments.
