Optimization of the yield strength determination in aluminum wires

$15.00

The problems of inconsistency of measurements of tensile yield strength (TYS) in aluminum electrical grade conductors are discussed. The causes of the anomalies are investigated and a new method of measuring TYS more accurately and consistently is explained. The new method consists of straightening (pre-straining) the wire before testing. The prestrained wire method is compared with other methods.
