Description

This paper discusses some methods essential for competition in a changing production environment. The change is coming from two directions, firstly from the East European countries, who export standard products at low price levels, secondly from the customers who do not want to store cables and hence require short delivery times and order in smaller quantities than before. According to the traditional European way of thinking, efficient cable production requires modern machinery vamped up with high automation. The most modern cable factories in the world can probably be found in Europe.
