Data are presented on the performance characteristics of semiconductive polyethylene insulation compounds and compared with the performance of conventional black polyethylene. Composition of semiconductive polyethylenes, modified XIA weathering, fungus resistance, solvent adsorption properties, protection against electrolytic corrosion, and the effect of heat cycling are considered.
