Performance of bell annealing furnace for wires and rods using low hydrogen low dew point atmosphere

$15.00

This paper describes test results obtained for low carbon steel (AISE 1022) wire rod coils annealed in a bell annealing furnace. During these tests it was possible to obtain 100 percent spheroidization with zero decarburization while eliminating surface contaminants of the rod. The tests were conducted on a bell annealing system composed of a new, all metal base, a high convection fan, a new plenum design, a new, unique design of the inner cover seal, and using the industry standard Lee Wilson radiant tube furnace.
