Description
A computerized Production Planning and Recording System (PPARS) in use at the Newcastle wire mill of Australian Wire Industries Pty Ltd is discussed. An overview schematic of the system is presented. Product structure, order processing, capacity evaluation, production planning, non-standard jobs, production data capture, stock control, and inventory corrections are discussed. An overview of system operations considers hardware, on-line processing, batch processing, implementation, training, and product structure.
