The properties of hydrostatically extruded EC aluminum and aluminum alloy wires are discussed. The advantages of hydrostatic extrusion, the materials used, and the properties of the extruded wire are considered. The effects of alloying, preheat temperatures, speed of extrusion, and volume of extrusion fluid on mechanical properties are described and charted.
