Siderurgica Mendes Junior (SMJ), which is strategically located in Southeast Brazil, is equipped with modern technological material. The steel making plant is equipped with an electric arc furnace 40/48 MVA and 84 MT/heat; a ladle furnace 13/16 MVA with electromagnetic stirer and inert gas injection through porous plug; a continuous casting machine four strands 130 x 130 mm and billet length of 15.7 m with an installed capacity of 570,000 MT/year.
