Quality management of wire rope by application of new indicators for estimation of correctness of Polish standard

$15.00

This paper presents new indicators for estimation of the correctness of the Polish standard PN-68/M-80021 for wire rope. It has been proven that with an indicator Wb, which is calculated as the ratio of tensile strength to number of bends of the wire, it is possible to estimate correctness of the standard and suggest modification of the number of bends for some diameters. The indicator Wt, which is calculated as the ratio of the tensile strength to the number of twists, can be a base for modification of the number of twists when the rope tensile strength is different, but the number of twists is the same.
