Recent developments in galfan-coated wire

$15.00

To optimize the performance of wire hot-dipped in Galfan galvanizing alloy (Zn-5% Al-0.03% mischmetal), a series of samples were made on a pilot line and tested for three years in marine and industrial atmospheres. Samples were made using a single-dip or double dip process. Initial coating thickness from 9 to 17 microns were produced on 1mm dia. wire. The Galfan composition gave the lowest weight loss in both atmospheres.
