Manufacturing strand to precise weight or resistance tolerances which is repeatable from one batch to another requires the manipulation of a host of variables. These variables can be classified as material variables, process variables, machine variables and specific product variables. The presentation will review the traditional double twist, tubular and rigid stranders and outline the sensitivities of the variables as they relate to the production of stranded conductors.
