The second in a series of articles on recent investigations in Germany is presented. Steels of various carbon contents were tested to determine the influence of drawing upon tensile strength and the effect of carbon content on flexibility. Formulas for determination of the diameter of rod required to draw finished wire of specified diameter and tensile strength are also presented.
