Properties forming of metallic materials in the continuous casting process is realized by changing the technological process parameters, i.e. liquid metal temperature, casting speed, casting mold cooling water flow, and temperature. This paper presents the casting process parameters’ influence, in particular speed of casting on the formation of the material structure in terms of quantity, size, and shape of grains, and also properties of copper wires used in highly advanced electrotechnical applications (audio-video cables, fire-resistant cables, and electrical beam).
