Residual stresses distribution after curvature change of wire

$15.00

This paper presents theoretical analysis concerned with the balance of forces during curvature changes in square wire, demonstrating anisotropy of mechanical properties in tension and compression tests. It is shown that during curvature changes a movement of stresses on a neutral axis must follow, because only in this case can the condition of force balance be realized. It is also shown that residual stresses in wire remain nonsymmetrical after unloading as well as higher at the compressed part during bending.
