Residual stresses in plastically deformed wires

$15.00

A theoretical basis to determine residual stresses in prestressed springs and in arc wire elements is presented. Based on stress-strain relations and conditions of equilibrium of forces and movements during the removal of subsequent wire layers, equations to determine residual stresses were derived. Experimental and theoretical results were compared with one another. The fatigue strength of conventional and prestressed springs has also been determined in this work.
