Cables in all applications are vulnerable to damage from rodents, termites, and ants. Conventional chemicals used to deal with these pests are toxic and hazardous, and have become ineffective as most of the target species have developed resistance to them. This paper describes polymer-specific masterbatches to combat these pests: Rodrepel™, Termirepel™, and Combirepel™. These are patented non-toxic and non-hazardous products which have been successful in protecting polymer applications and which do not kill the target species.
