A normal bunch stranded conductor generally produced on double twist bunchers, never can be round. Therefore it is not suitable for thin wall insulation, which is necessary when expensive insulating material is to be used, the diameter has to be reduced and the weight has to be reduced. In these cases round conductors become more and more important.
