SECAP (system extrusion commande automatique programmable) computerized extrusion lines, designed by Maillefer in 1974, has been upgraded from a card entry system to that of a memory inclusive microcomputer. Each extrusion line is equipped with a CRT and keyboard allowing for interaction with the operator. Hardware schematics, communications levels, sample parameter inputs, and outputs are shown. System design and modes of operation are discussed.
