Small final reductions in the drawing process of rope wires

$15.00

In the work an effect of small final reductions in the range of 1 to 5 percent on mechanical properties and residual stresses of rope wires of different plain carbon steels has been investigated. It has been found that small final reductions of 2 to 3 percent significantly improved fatigue limits (maximum 12 percent) of final wires as compared with wires drawn at typical final reductions (more than 20 percent).
