Some improvements for fine wire applications with the ladle furnace process

$15.00

A ladle furnace developed by the Georgetown Steel Corp. of South Carolina is described in detail. It has improved production capability and power consumption and reduced customer claims. Through the control of temperature, narrow chemistry ranges, deoxidation, cleanliness and nitrogen control, the quality of deep drawing low carbon steel and for critical high carbon applications has been improved. The production of special grades has also been made possible on a production process.
