Description
In the work, drawability of steel wire rods and wires by means of ‘r’ indicator has been estimated. Values of ‘r’ are calculated as ratios of yield strength sp to ‘breaking’ strength Ro determined in a tensile strength. The coherence of a drawn material will be assured if working capacity ‘Z’ of a drawing process will be higher than ‘r.’ Values of ‘r’ and ‘Z’ and other indicators were determined for different grades of rods and wires and it has been proven that indicator ‘r,’ describing a tendency of material to brittle fracture, is very useful for estimation of a material drawability.
