Strain aging of an AISI 1070 steel

$15.00

In this work, hardening and strain aging during a high carbon wiredrawing operation were analyzed. With the tensile and yield strength values, measured in every step of the operation sequence, the hardening behavior was described using the Hollomon equation; s = K en. The hardening can be estimated through a global exponent. The presence of two “n” values was observed, which is a characteristic behavior of changes in hardening mechanism.
