In this paper, as the introduction to the main topic of strain aging of carbon steel wires, solid solubility of carbon and nitrogen in alpha iron and the quench aging are briefly described at first. Then, the effect of artificial, dynamic and natural strain aging on the mechanical properties and their mechanisms on low and high carbon steel wires are presented.
