Studies of copper wire breaks in ultra fine gauge

$15.00

The drawability of ultra fine wires in continuous casting and rolling was improved as a result of investigations which determined that the diminuation of inclusions in copper rod was most important to improved drawability. Causes of ultra fine wire breaks are classified with refractory inclusions most frequent, followed by ferrous inclusions. An effective filtration method for refractory particles included in molten copper and its statistical evaluation method (the Leitz Texture Analysis System) are described. The prevention of the intrusion of ferrous particles in the rolling process is also covered.
