Super-plastic behavior of duplex stainless steel wires

$15.00

The authors tested ER312 and ER2209 duplex stainless steels in wire drawn in different conditions. The results obtained show the important influence of work hardening due to drawing of the wire, so that, even with high strain rates, the duplex steels can show super-plastic bahavior. Moreover, the comparison between the two materials confirmed the importance of a dual phase structure: the ER312 steel with a ferrite content higher than ER2209 showed a more relevant availability to super-plastic deformation.
