Surface evaluation of copper wire

$15.00

The surface quality of drawn wire can be important. This is especially true for magnet wire, where irregular wire surface could cause the enamel to rupture in service. Evaluation of a wire surface using the scanning electron microscope and combined with profilometry data, yields in- depth analysis of the surface. Such an analysis is vital in determining and eliminating the source of surface imperfections. A simple optical microscope can be useful for in-plant auditing of the surface.
