In this paper the factors affecting attenuation in copper telecommunication cables will be analyzed, especially in high frequencies. The controlling methods of attenuation for controlling the crosstalk in multi-pair cables will be discussed. A new method for proving the attenuation formula in all frequencies will be introduced as well. For analyzing the validity of this formula, the practical results and computer simulation have been used. In the acquired results the effect of eccentricity, mutual capacitance, and resistance on attenuation in high frequencies will be analyzed.
