The development of overhead wiring for powering electric street railways is discussed. A series of tests on the corrosion resistance, corrosion and tension performance, stretch, elastic limit, and tensile strength of calsun bronze are described. Copper wire was originally used, but was eventually replaced with copper base alloys and tin bronzes.
