The double-cascade-quench (DCQ) method of patenting high-carbon steel rod

$15.00

A brief description and history of patenting is presented, followed by a description of the newly developed Double-Cascade-Quench (DCQ) method of patenting high carbon steel rod. The method includes a prequench in two molten salt baths in tandem; this improves microstructure throughout the rod, rather than only in the outer layer. Tests on physical properties and microstructure are presented.
