The effect of prior austenite grain size on fatigue strength in C and Si-enriched valve spring wire

$15.00

The recent development of lightweight yet high output automotive engines, has led to the development of valve spring wire with high fatigue strength. Sumitomo developed C and Si-enriched OT wire that has both high-heat resistance and high fatigue strength. In this research, the authors evaluated the effect of prior austenite grain sizes on fatigue strength and found that finer structure is effective in improving fatigue strength.
