Differences in microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Fe-Co (Super T) alloy rod caused by solidification rate are reported. Rapidly solidified alloys result in wire products with improved mechanical properties due to smaller as-cast dendritic network and finer precipitate distribution after hot-rolling and cold-working.
