Laboratory measurements of reduction factor are presented as a practical guide for the determination of power frequency shielding efficiencies of cable sheaths and other metallic coverings. Non-magnetic and magnetic shielding, aluminum and lead sheathed cables, steel taped aluminum sheathed cables, and screening of cable by external shield circuits are considered.
