In 1980, Hendon Products co., Sicme SpA of Turin, Italy developed a design for a prototype gas-fired vertical system wire enameling oven. Target parameters were; high quality equal to existing electrical ovens, reduction of hydrocarbon levels, and minimal increase in the consumption of energy. The first two target levels are discussed technically, and results obtained from this system are described in detail.
